We aim to uplift works both new and old and challenge the notion that these art forms exist within limited parameters. We believe in creating work that is accessible, approachable, and unconventional.

WHO WE ARE

Dalia Sevilla (Founder, Artistic Director)

Dalia is a director and lighting designer. She most recently made her Off-Broadway directorial debut with the American premiere of the musical Of A Lifetime. She was awarded the International New York Film Festival Merit Award for the live film version. She is the founder of the Classical Voice Collective at NYU through which she produced and directed seven operas: Bastien und Bastienne, Hänsel und Gretel, The Portrait of Manon, Riders to the Sea, Le Mariage aux Lanternes, Daphnis et Chloé and Prima la Musica e poi le Parole. She also directed For the Love of Natalie Woods for Communal Spaces and the premiere of Bismillah at the Fresh Fruit Festival. She assistant directed Monteverdi and other Treasures and Zemlinsky Zimmer with The Little Opera Theatre of New York, Scenes from the Tower with Dell’ Arte Opera Ensemble, The Dialogue of the Carmelites. She also directed five opera scenes at the Harrower Music Festival. She recently made her Off-Broadway lighting design debut with Truckers at Intar, playing now. She was awarded the 2022 Lighting Design fellowship through Boundless Theater Company. Her lighting design credits also include It’s in the Play for the 1st Irish Festival, Once on this Island for Summer Theatre of New Canaan directed by George Faison, One Night Only: An Evening with Norm Lewis with the NY Pops at Carnegie Hall, Lifeline with Boundless Theater Company, Bismillah for the Fresh Fruit Festival, Fiddler on the Roof with NYU’s Drama Therapy Department, and ChristinaNoel and the Creature’s Self Love Kind of Thing. www.daliasevilla.com

Jess Schmidt (Producer)

Jess is a non-profit administrator, writer, activist, and textile artist. She holds a Master of Public Administration with a specialization in Urban Development and Sustainability from Baruch College. She is the Training Department Administrator for the CUNY Institute for Urban Systems - Building Performance Lab. Previously, Jess worked for 59E59 Theaters, the TEAM, Built for Collapse, The Motor Company, and Sinking Ship Productions. She has worked on productions at New Ohio Theatre, IRT Theater, HERE, The Tank, and in various community gardens, a bar, and a laundromat. In her spare time, Jess likes to make clothing, bags, and quilted things. You can follow her textile work on Instagram at @amend.co
